National News: A 15-year-old Dalit girl from Prayagraj was taken to Kerala for forced conversion and radicalization. She was lured by a friend with false promises and handed over to a terror-linked group. Police rescued her and arrested two people; one accused is still missing. The case highlights the danger of extremist networks targeting vulnerable minors.

The Shocking Ordeal of a Minor Girl

A disturbing and deeply unsettling case has emerged from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, involving a 15-year-old Dalit minor girl. Lured by false promises, she was taken to Kerala with the intention of religious conversion and radicalisation. The girl, from a marginalized background, was allegedly brainwashed and targeted by individuals who aimed to convert her to Islam and groom her into a jihadi militant. Her vulnerable social and economic condition was exploited to push her into a terrifying plot that not only endangered her future but posed a serious threat to national security. The case has shaken the local community and raised urgent concerns about the safety of minor girls from underprivileged backgrounds.

A Friend Turned Betrayer

According to the police investigation, the girl was misled and accompanied by a female friend who was also part of the larger conspiracy. This woman, a Muslim by faith, first earned the girl’s trust, then took advantage of her financial condition and emotional fragility. With promises of a better life and financial help, the minor was taken from Prayagraj to Delhi, and eventually to Kerala. It is alleged that during this journey, the girl was gradually influenced and pressured into converting to Islam. She was even introduced to suspicious individuals in Kerala who were part of this radical network. A complaint lodged by the girl’s mother with Prayagraj police laid the foundation for a swift and serious investigation.

Religious Conversion and Terror Network

The most alarming aspect of this case is the revelation of a well-structured gang that operates with the intent to convert young girls—particularly from Dalit and poor communities—and push them into the web of terrorism. DCP Kuldeep Singh Gunawat confirmed that the arrested female is linked to such a gang that systematically targets vulnerable minors. The aim is not merely conversion but full indoctrination into radical ideologies, eventually leading to their use in terrorist activities. So far, two people have been arrested—one being the girl’s female friend and the other, a male accomplice. A third suspect remains on the run, and efforts are underway to track him down.

Deception, Abduction, and Mental Abuse

The minor, in her statement, revealed that before she left Prayagraj, a male individual—associated with the female friend—harassed her. He even dropped her off at the railway station on a motorbike, indicating premeditated coordination. Upon reaching Delhi, and then Kerala, she was subjected to repeated psychological manipulation and coercion. In Kerala, she met people whose identities remain under investigation, but who allegedly tried to convert her through emotional pressure, intimidation, and monetary allure. She also reported instances of harassment and the presence of suspicious individuals. Fortunately, Prayagraj police acted swiftly and recovered the girl, safely reuniting her with her mother.

Police Action and a Wake-up Call

The incident is not just a criminal case—it is a grave social and national issue. The way in which a minor girl was almost dragged into a terror network under the guise of religion raises critical concerns about the safety of children from economically weaker sections. The police have launched an extensive investigation into the gang’s operations and connections. Authorities believe more arrests are likely in the coming days as the full scale of the network becomes clear. This case serves as a stark reminder for families, communities, and the entire nation to remain vigilant. Awareness, early intervention, and robust support systems are essential to protect vulnerable children from such predators.
